Hares Hill Road
Bridge has been providing access
over Chester
County’s French
Creek for over 140 years. Improvements undertaken over this past Summer
increase the bridge’s capacity from 7 to 15 tons and include a four foot
wide bicycle lane. Hares
Hill Road
Bridge was
originally built in 1869 and is the only known surviving Thomas William
Moseley designed wrought iron lattice girder truss bridge in existence. SassCo Engineering is pleased to be part of the
$826,689 restoration efforts which included design of containment and
temporary work platform structures.
The Hares Hill Road bridge is on the
National Registry of Historic Structures and more information can be seen
on the Library of Congress website
which includes drawings and bridge photos.
